§ Privacy
Privacy
Short version: this site keeps nothing about you. No analytics, no ads, no trackers, and nothing is sold.
Who runs it
This site is run by me, Devyn Trujillo, from Oklahoma, USA, on one mini PC in my house. Contact: [email protected].
Cookies
Visitors get none. The site sets exactly one cookie, labpass, and only on my own browser on my home network. It is HttpOnly and Secure, and it exists so my operator pages recognise me. It is strictly necessary and never set for anyone else.
Stored in your browser
A few preferences sit in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, and you can clear them any time by clearing site data.
| Key | Holds |
|---|---|
| sfxOn | Whether sound effects are on or off. |
| cmdkRecent | The last five commands you opened from the ⌘K palette. |
| lab-motion | Present only if you pressed “motion” to pause animation. |
| mcBooted | Session storage, on an operator page only. Gone when the tab closes. |
Your IP address
The terminal on the home page shows your IP address back to you. It is not stored by this site and not sent to any third party.
The IP check in that terminal is the exception, and only when you use it: pressing Check sends the address you typed to Shodan's InternetDB. Like any web request, that request also carries your own IP. Nothing is sent to Shodan until you press the button.
Cloudflare and logs
All traffic passes through Cloudflare, which proxies the site. Cloudflare's handling of that traffic is covered by its privacy policy (opens in new tab).
Cloudflare and my reverse proxy keep standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page, browser string). They are kept short-term, for security and troubleshooting, and I don't use them for anything else.
Your requests
If you want to know what, if anything, I hold about you, or want it deleted, email [email protected].
Reporting a security problem
Found a vulnerability on this site? Email [email protected] with what you found and how to reproduce it. Please don't access other people's data, degrade the service, or go public before I've had a reasonable chance to fix it. This is a one-person homelab, so there's no bounty, but I'll credit you if you want.
